Title: Manufacturing Technician

Set-up, maintenance, machine capability studies, job layout and tooling, productivity and process improvement, job troubleshooting, and advanced training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following but are not limited to:

Assure maintenance and operation of equipment:

• Establish and direct timely machine preventative maintenance processes and document
• Perform regular machine capability studies and either perform or arrange for repairs/re-builds
• Understanding of Infeed, Through Feed and Center grinding including Set-Up

Improve productivity and work towards machine optimization:

• Evaluate all job layouts, setups, and tooling
• Make recommendations to improve actual pieces per hour
• Document results to show actual improvements
• Assure that improvements made continue to exist
• Troubleshoot daily machine operations and work with machine operators to assure production targets planned for are actually achieved

Advanced training:

• Train machine operators to maintain equipment
• Train specified machine operators in setup and troubleshooting skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

2 years of grinding experience required, preferably in a job shop environment.

• Candidate must have strong troubleshooting abilities, self-motivated, and able to work unsupervised.

• Ability to comprehend blueprints and use applicable measuring devices.

• Good verbal and written communication skills with company personnel as well as outside contractors and technical support.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks effectively

• Continuous Improvement mentality

• Must be available for any shift
